Races in Broken Blade give your character significant stat boosts that directly affect how well you perform in combat. You unlock the ability to reroll your race at level 500 using the Race Reroll Item, which can be obtained by grinding the Nivaron Boss or trading with other players. There are nine races spread across six rarity tiers, and knowing which ones are worth chasing makes the grind a lot more focused. This Broken Blade tier list ranks every available race in the game currently available.

Best Races in Broken Blade
| Race | Rarity | Drop Rate | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aesir | Mythical | 0.03% | +75% Damage, +10% Crit Chance, +100% Crit Damage, +5% Attack Speed |
Aesir is the best race in the game and it is not close. As the only Mythical rarity race with a drop rate of just 0.03%, it is extremely rare, but the stats justify the chase entirely. It gives +75% damage, +10% crit chance, +100% crit damage, and +5% attack speed simultaneously. No other race comes close to covering that many combat dimensions at once, and the crit damage multiplier in particular is what pushes it into a completely different category from everything else.
A Tier
| Race | Rarity | Drop Rate | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vanir | Legendary | 3.17% | +75% Damage, +25% Katana Damage |
| Nether | Legendary | 0.79% | +75% Damage, +25% Buster Damage |
| Elf | Legendary | 0.79% | +75% Damage, +25% Sword Damage |
Vanir, Nether, and Elf all share the same base of +75% damage but each adds a weapon-specific bonus on top. Vanir gives +25% katana damage, Nether gives +25% buster damage, and Elf gives +25% sword damage. Which one you want depends entirely on your weapon of choice, but all three are genuinely strong picks for anyone running their respective weapon type. Nether and Elf are harder to roll at 0.79% each compared to Vanir at 3.17%, making Vanir the most accessible of the three.
B Tier
| Race | Rarity | Drop Rate | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flame | Epic | 7.93% | +50% Damage, +50% Health |
| Frost | Epic | 7.93% | +50% Damage, +20% Damage Reduction |
Flame and Frost are both solid Epic tier picks that cover offense and survivability well. Flame gives a balanced +50% damage and +50% health making it good for players who want a bit of everything. Frost trades some of that health for +20% damage reduction instead, which makes it the better pick for longer fights where incoming damage is a concern. Both are reasonable places to sit while working toward the higher tiers.
C Tier
| Race | Rarity | Drop Rate | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Giant | Rare | 15.87% | +10% Damage Reduction, +5% Life Steal |
| Dwarves | Uncommon | 15.87% | +30% Health |
Giant offers +10% damage reduction and +5% life steal, which gives it a bit more combat utility than Dwarves but still falls well short of what B tier and above offer. The life steal is situationally useful but not impactful enough at this level to make a real difference. Dwarves at +30% health is tankier than Human but still purely defensive with nothing to add to your damage output.
D Tier
| Race | Rarity | Drop Rate | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Human | Common | 47.60% | +10% Health |
Human is the most common race at a 47.60% drop rate and the weakest in the game. A flat +10% health bonus does essentially nothing meaningful at the level of content where races start to matter. Reroll away from this as soon as you can.
Rerolling your race in Broken Blade is one of the greatest upgrades you can make, so it is worth being patient and targeting the right tier before committing. Aesir is the dream roll, but any of the A tier races will carry you through most of the game's content as long as you are running the matching weapon type!
