SS-Tier: Best Weapon Aspects in Hades 2

These are the weapons that dominate the game. They're strong in almost any situation and work with tons of different builds.
Aspect of Medea (Argent Skull)
This is hands down the best Aspect in Hades 2. When you max it out, you get a 90% damage boost to your Attacks and Specials right from the start. That's insane.
The cool thing about Medea is that you basically can't build it wrong. Most players grab Heaven Flourish as their first Boon and just go to town. You'll dash and Special around the battlefield so fast it feels like you're teleporting.
Aspect of Circe (Witch's Staff)
Circe is all about building around your Cast. You get a double Cast and something called a Psychic Leash that pulls enemies together. The best familiars to use with this are Toula and Raki since they help you land both Casts on the same enemy for massive damage.
You can clear entire runs barely using your Attack or Special. Just spam your Casts and let them do all the work. Storm Ring and Smolder Ring are your best friends with this Aspect.
Aspect of Melinoë (Witch's Staff)
Don't sleep on the starter weapon. The Staff's base Aspect is actually one of the best in the game because it gives you Bonus Special Power. This means you can build it however you want - Omega Moves, strike combos, whatever feels good.
The meta build focuses on Heaven Strike for Attack and damage percentage Boons like Sworn Flourish or Flutter Flourish on Special. But honestly, almost any decent Boon combination works great with this weapon Aspect.
S-Tier: Really Strong Options

These Aspects are super powerful but a bit more limited than S-tier. They need specific builds to reach their peak.
Aspect of Anubis (Witch's Staff)
This is the best hidden Aspect in the game. You place down a damaging field with your Attack, then pull enemies into it with your Special. Once they're stuck in the field, you just focus on dodging while the damage racks up.
Start with Heaven Strike or Flame Strike and you're golden. It's actually one of the easier Aspects to win with once you understand how it works.
Aspect of Moros (Umbral Flames)
The combo here is simple: activate an Omega Special, then spam Attacks to trigger explosions. These explosions hit hard and work great with percentage-based Boons. If you get the Clean Coil Hammer upgrade, you're basically set for an easy win. The only problem is you need a lot of Magick, and you're constantly channeling.
Aspect of the Morrigan (Sister Blades)
Morrigan has some really strong builds. The multi-hit Attack pairs perfectly with on-hit Boons like Flame Strike, or you can use the bigger area of Nova Strike. The best part about Morrigan is access to Blood Triad for massive burst damage. Regular enemies? Just spam Attacks. Guardians and bosses? Learn your Blood Triad combos and watch them melt.
Aspect of Charon (Moonstone Axe)
This is the best Omega Cast weapon in the game. For the cost of one Omega Special, you also get an Omega Cast with huge area damage. Build around Apollo and grab Lucid Gain for basically infinite Magick. The single target damage is huge, the area is massive, and other than channeling time, it's pretty safe to use.
Aspect of Thanatos (Moonstone Axe)
Thanatos has two big problems. First, you really want Psychic Whirlwind or Furious Whirlwind to make your Omega Attacks good. Second, you need to be really good at not getting hit. The Mortality effect gives you critical damage, but it resets every time you take even tiny damage. If you're skilled at dodging though, this weapon hits like a truck.
Aspect of Nyx (Black Coat)
Nyx creates a Nightspawn that doubles your Attacks and Specials. Wave Strike is the go-to choice here because of how the doubling works.
It's a good weapon, but the playstyle feels a bit niche and repetitive compared to higher-ranked options.
A-Tier: Solid But Situational

These Aspects are good at what they do, but they never feel overpowered. Getting the right build can be tricky.
Aspect of Eos (Umbral Flames)
Eos is interesting because the Daybreaker mimics your Special. The combo is: fire the Daybreaker Omega Attack, use one Omega Special, then spam regular Specials until it expires. The problem is you can't control where the Daybreaker goeUmbral Flamess, so sometimes it misses completely.
Aspect of Shiva (Black Coat)
Shiva has the highest single-hit damage in the entire game. All you need is Flutter Strike or Nova Strike plus a Curse Boon on Special. Once you learn to absorb Omega Specials to power up your Omega Attacks, the combat feels great. Just be careful - you only block attacks from the front while channeling.
Aspect of Nergal (Moonstone Axe)
At first, Nergal feels pretty bad. The attack speed is slow, and it takes forever to land 21 Strikes to go Berserk. But rank it up a few times and everything changes. Once you're Berserk, you heal constantly, which makes this one of the most forgiving weapons in the game. Focus on using the Omega Attack to build up strikes faster.
B and C-Tier: The Struggling Aspects
These are the weakest Aspects in Hades 2. Their base effects just aren't strong enough on their own, and they need way too much help from specific Boons or Hammer upgrades to feel good.
The main problem with these low-tier Aspects is that they feel like weaker versions of other weapons. Most of them need very specific builds to work, which means you're relying heavily on RNG. If you don't get the right Hammers or Boons early, your run can feel like a slog.
Take the base Black Coat for example - it's basically locked into Wave Strike Splash builds and desperately needs Exhaust Riser plus Poseidon's legendary Boon. That's way too much luck required. The base Sister Blades have similar issues, needing tons of specific Boons just to match the damage other weapons get naturally.
Even the C-tier options like Momus, Hel, and Persephone have narrow build paths. Momus barely feels usable until max rank. Hel locks you in place during attacks, making it super dangerous. Persephone is mostly used just for the Bonus Boon levels rather than its actual Sprouted effect.
Don't get me wrong - you can absolutely beat the game with these Aspects. Players have cleared 50+ Fear with them. They just require more skill, patience, and luck compared to everything else on this list. If you're learning the game or pushing high Fear levels, you're better off sticking with the higher-tier options.
If you want the easiest wins, stick with Medea, Circe, or base Staff. These three will carry you through almost anything. For more experienced players looking for a challenge, the A-tier weapons offer great power with more complex playstyles.
