In Hades 2, having the best Keepsakes can help you achieve smoother runs. These items grant extra powers that help you survive longer, deal more DPS, and generally make your runs easier. Just like Weapon Aspects, some Keepsakes are simply better than others. Here’s a breakdown of which ones are generally the best. However, use this information as a general guideline, making it work still depends on your playstyle.

S-Tier: Best Keepsakes in Hades 2

These are the game-changers. If you have access to them, you should seriously consider using them.
Jeweled Pom
This one completely changed how people play Hades 2. Every time you get offered a Boon during your run, you gain extra Pom levels automatically. That's huge. You also start with one of Hades' Boons right away. Once you unlock this Keepsake, your strongest runs will almost always start with it equipped.
Engraved Pin
When your health drops to zero, you become invincible for 10 seconds instead of dying. During that time, you can unleash everything you've got on your enemies. If you clear the fight within those 10 seconds, you won't die or use a Death Defiance. Instead, you'll heal based on the Keepsake's rank.
The best part? This works once per encounter, not once per run. That means you can use it multiple times as you progress through a region. You can equip it early and keep it on for the entire run. Those 10 seconds of invincibility often mean the difference between winning and losing, especially against tough bosses.
Luckier Tooth
This gives you one extra Death Defiance that restores up to 151 health, depending on its rank. Yeah, it only works once per run, which is why it's not quite as strong as Engraved Pin. But the benefit is guaranteed; you don't need to rely on getting lucky with Boon offerings or clearing fights within a time limit.
A-Tier: Second Best Keepsakes
Metallic Droplet
This Keepsake is all about speed. Players commonly slot this in during the third Underworld region where the timer becomes a real threat. Those massive Fields areas chew through precious seconds, and the movement speed plus attack speed boost helps you blitz through faster.
The catch? Its duration often runs out before you reach the Guardian, meaning your toughest fight gets no benefit. Still, for Magick-heavy builds, that casting speed increase is noticeable. Next time you're building around Omega abilities, give it a shot.
Transcendent Embryo
Here's a neat trick: you keep whatever Chaos Boon this gives you even after removing the Keepsake. That makes it perfect for regions two or three where you can grab a powerful buff then swap to something else. At three-star rank, those Epic-quality Chaos Boons seriously amp up your power.
White Antler
Speedrunners swear by this one. It cranks your damage through the ceiling in exchange for capping your max health at 30. Yeah, that's brutal. If you're taking this into endgame content, you'll want Crit-boosting effects like Success Rate or Cherished Heirloom to push the damage even higher.
When it works, it really works – you delete bosses before they can touch you. When it doesn't, you're one mistake away from death. Unless you're extremely confident in your dodging skills, keep this for standard runs and avoid using it with Vow of Rivals active.
B-Tier: Good Keepsakes
Adamant Shard
If you need to slot in a God Keepsake during the middle sections of your run, Hephaestus is your safest bet. His defensive options help literally every build type survive longer.
Planning a Blast-focused build? You absolutely must start with this Keepsake and immediately upgrade Volcanic Strike or Volcanic Flourish to higher rarity. Hephaestus builds live or die based on early Boon quality and level investment.
Cloud Bangle
You'll see this Keepsake more than probably any other God option in Hades 2. Zeus brings consistently strong core Boons, plus his supplementary options like Static Shock are perfect for weapons that hit rapidly. Hard to go wrong with Zeus.
Barley Sheaf
Freeze works in virtually any setup you can imagine. Stack it with Cold Storage to make the effect last longer, and suddenly you're walking through encounters with enemies barely able to move. Easy mode.
Time Piece
This is one of the post-game Keepsakes you unlock after credits. While it doesn't have the raw power of others on this list, it stacks with them and generates tons of extra gold. Sometimes you'll finish runs swimming in more currency than you know what to do with.
C-Tier and D-Tier: The Situational and Underwhelming Keepsakes
Here's the thing about the lower-tier Keepsakes – they're not completely useless, but there's almost always a better option. The C-tier ones work in very specific builds or situations, while the D-tier ones are just too weak or inconsistent to bother with.
The pattern here? These Keepsakes either activate too late, only work in one fight, or give you benefits that other Keepsakes provide better. You might use them occasionally when your build specifically calls for it, but they're never your go-to choice.
The bottom line is this: you only get four Keepsake slots per run. When you have powerhouses like Jeweled Pom, Engraved Pin, or the A-tier Keepsakes available, why would you waste a slot on something that might not even activate or could actively hurt your build? Save these for challenge runs or when you're just messing around. For serious runs, stick with the higher tiers.
Choosing the right Keepsakes in Hades 2 is all about understanding your build and the challenges ahead. The S-tier Keepsakes like Jeweled Pom and Engraved Pin are almost always good choices, while the God Keepsakes in B-tier help you shape your build in the early regions.
Don't be afraid to experiment with different combinations. Sometimes, a C-tier Keepsake is exactly what you need for your specific build or situation. And definitely avoid the D-tier options unless you're trying some kind of challenge run.
