Fellowship is set to release on October 16, 2025, but players can already jump into the free Playtest. If you’re diving into this exciting new dungeon crawler, it’s important to know which characters are worth your time. There are seven characters to choose from—two tanks, three DPS, and two healers. While every character in Fellowship can clear all the content, some are stronger, easier to play, or simply more effective than others. This tier list breaks down the best characters in the Fellowship Playtest.

S-Tier Characters

Meiko
Meiko is hands down the best character in the game right now. She's supposed to be a tank, but she deals crazy damage while keeping everyone alive. Once you get her combo system down, you'll be topping damage meters while laughing off enemy attacks. Her self-buffs and cooldown management make her incredibly strong in high-level dungeons.
Sylvie
Sylvie might be listed as a healer, but she's really a DPS with healing powers. Her vines and mushrooms do most of the work - build them up right, and you'll see your damage numbers go through the roof. The best part? She can still keep your whole team alive while doing all this damage. Her healing output is higher and more focused than Vigour’s, making her the top-tier healer for now.
Mara
Mara is the newest character added to the Playtest, and she's absolutely brutal. She's all about building combo points and landing massive finisher attacks. Plus, she deals backstab critical damage that eats enemies alive.
Fair warning though, she's tough to master. You need to learn when to attack and when to hold back. But if you put in the time, she's one of the strongest characters you can play.
A-Tier Characters

Helena
Helena is what you think of when someone says "tank." She's got this Toughness mechanic that makes her nearly impossible to kill. If you just want to stand there and take hits, she's your girl. The only reason she's not S Tier is that Meiko does everything Helena does, plus way more damage. In high-level dungeons, that extra damage really matters.
Ardeos
Ardeos is probably the most visually fun character to play. Everything he does burns enemies over time, and then you get to watch those burn effects stack up before exploding everything with Detonate. His mechanics revolve around building up Embers and turning them into Burning Embers. When you trigger Detonate, all that damage over time becomes instant damage. It's satisfying and effective.
B-Tier Characters

Rime
Rime used to be one of the top picks, but she's fallen behind a bit. She uses Winter Orbs to deal massive burst damage, and her builder/spender system is pretty easy to figure out. She's still great for newer players because you can do well without perfect play. But compared to the top-tier characters, she just doesn't bring enough to the table in higher-level content.
Vigour
Vigour lands in B Tier because he's not completely useless, but he's definitely not optimal. His strength is healing multiple people at once, but Fellowship groups only have four players. While Sylvie can easily keep everyone alive while dealing tons of damage, Vigour focuses purely on healing. He can keep your team alive, but that's about all he brings to the fight.
Which Character Should You Pick?
If you're new to Fellowship, start with Meiko or Helena. Meiko gives you incredible survivability with great damage, while Helena lets you focus on pure tanking without complex mechanics.
For experienced players looking for a challenge, Mara offers the highest skill ceiling and some of the best damage in the game.
Remember, the best character is the one you enjoy playing and take time to master. This tier list shows what's working in the current meta, but every character can succeed with enough practice.
