Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra has three main roles that define how each character plays. With damage dealers, tanks, and technical characters, the game offers different ways to contribute to your team. Recent updates have brought some major changes to character balance, making this tier list important for understanding who performs best right now.
This guide covers all characters across the three roles, ranking them from S-tier (the absolute best) down to C-tier (characters that need work). Each role has its own strengths, and knowing where each character stands helps you pick the right character for your playstyle.
Keep in mind that these rankings reflect our time with the game and our experience across matches. Your results might differ slightly based on your playstyle and the teams you face.

Best Damage Characters in Gekishin Squadra
- Super Saiyan Son Goku sits at the top of damage dealers for good reason. His kit works perfectly together - the Kamehameha covers huge areas, Meteor Hammer gives him mobility, and Kaio-Ken lets him escape dangerous situations. The Spirit Bomb Super-Attack can clear entire areas and confirm kills easily. Recent buffs to his transformation damage make him even stronger in late-game fights.
- Super Saiyan Kale (Berserk) brings incredible burst damage potential. Her Berserk transformation turns her into a team-wiping machine. The transformation gives massive damage boosts and makes her nearly unstoppable in the right hands. Android 17 can counter her transformation, but when it works, nothing else in the game comes close to her damage output.

Best Tank Characters in Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra
- Cooler (Final Form) dominates the tank role. Death Chaser grabs enemies and sets up kills, while his ultimate Atomic Supernova controls large areas. Recent HP buffs make him even tankier than before; however the recent patch reduced his overall damage output.
- Super Saiyan Vegeta brings incredible crowd control with Photon Bomber. This skill can pull multiple enemies together, setting up easy kills for damage dealers.

Best Technical Characters in Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra
- Son Gohan (Kid) received massive buffs that pushed him to the top of technical characters. His Friendship Boost now gives much stronger attack bonuses to allies, and the barrier from "Leave This to Me!" provides excellent team support.
- Krillin remains strong despite recent nerfs to Energy Mine damage. The Destructo-Disc ultimate got its cooldown increased from 50 to 70 seconds, but it still does massive damage when it hits. His ability to control objectives and support teammates keeps him in S-tier.
- Android 17 brings unique utility by canceling enemy transformations and preventing healing. His barrier abilities protect the team while his energy system lets him use skills multiple times. The Counter Barrier ultimate can turn fights around by applying No Healing effects to enemies.
Characters in lower tiers often have one or two major weaknesses that hold them back. Piccolo lacks the synergy between his skills that top characters have. Bojack struggles with his ultimate being too slow and leaving him vulnerable. These characters can still work in the right hands, but they require more effort to succeed.
Understanding these tier rankings helps you pick characters that fit your playstyle while giving your team the best chance to win. Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra's balance continues to evolve, so these rankings may shift as new updates arrive. Remember that individual skill and team coordination often matter more than tier placement, so don't be afraid to try characters you enjoy playing.
