S Tier: Best Balls in Ball x Pit
These are the three balls that'll win you games almost every time.
- Magma is hands down the strongest ball in Ball x Pit. When it hits enemies, it shoots out multiple magma projectiles that spread around. It also creates an earthquake effect that clears out crowds like nothing else.
- Sandstorm might not sound impressive, but trust me on this one. It blinds enemies so they can't even attack you. This means you survive way longer and don't have to worry about getting overwhelmed. The utility here is insane.
- Holy Laser hits every single enemy on the map at once. But here's what makes it really broken: it works as a universal combiner with any other balls. Mix Holy Laser with other balls, and you become unstoppable.
A Tier: Second Best Choices
These balls won't disappoint you. They're powerful and can definitely carry runs.
- Wraith travels through all enemies and freezes them solid. When you upgrade it with icicle, it becomes even better. Plus, it has amazing fusion potential with other balls.
- Lightning Rod plants rods on the field that zap nearby enemies every three seconds. It's not flashy, but the sustained damage really adds up over time.
- Blizzard freezes everything in a two-tile radius around where it lands. The crowd control here puts it at the top of A-tier. Frozen enemies can't hurt you.
- Bleed is one of the best starting balls. It deals solid damage and makes enemies bleed, which chips away at their health over time.
- Glacier needs you to invest in it a bit, but once you do, the freeze effect and area damage pay off nicely.
- Mosquito King spawns a mosquito every time it hits something. These mosquitoes heal you and can ricochet to the backline. Pretty cool survival option.
- Soul Sucker gives you the best life steal in the entire game. It also reduces enemy attack by 20%, which is huge for staying alive.
- Iron Ball deals very good damage and has great fuse potentials. No other base balls can do damage as high as Iron Ball.
- Vertical Laser can clear out all enemies in a vertical line, and it helps a lot.
- Fire is another standard ball that gets the job done.
- Earthquake deals decent area damage, good for crowd control.
- Storm travels through enemies dealing damage as it goes. Think of it like Blizzard, but without the freeze effect.
B Tier: Decent Balls That Get The Job Done
These balls are solid. They're not amazing, but they won't let you down either.
- Assassin does exactly what you'd expect - it goes straight through the front line to hit enemies in the back. With the right trinkets, this ball hits hard.
- Spider Queen costs a lot, but she births egg sacks that fill up the backline really fast. If you can afford her, she's strong.
- Virus spreads disease between enemies with a 15% chance. Out of all the poison options in the game, this one's the best.
- Poison Laser hits multiple enemies at once and poisons them. It's basically a better version of regular poison.
- Inferno is the fire version of Blizzard. Good damage, but it doesn't control crowds as well since there's no freeze.
- Ghost automatically goes to the backline. You need this ball for some really good evolutions, so don't sleep on it.
- Wind slows enemies down and damages them. Works great when you combine it with other balls.
- Brood Mother spawns mini balls at the backline. It needs some setup to work right, but it can be effective.
- Frost Flame combines frost and fire effects together. It's middle-of-the-pack for both, which makes it okay but not great.
- Lightning zaps three nearby enemies at once. The base damage is pretty good right out of the gate.
- Mosquito Swarm has a lower chance of killing than Mosquito King, but it’s still quite good.
When you're building your ball collection, focus on the S-tier and A-tier options first. Magma, Sandstorm, and Holy Laser should be your top priorities if you see them.
Don't get fooled by fancy evolved balls. Just because a ball is rare or evolved doesn't mean it's good. Hemorrhage is the perfect example, it's evolved, but it's actually terrible.
Pay attention to how balls combine with each other. Some combinations are way stronger than the sum of their parts. Holy Laser especially works with everything.
Ball x Pit is all about making smart choices with your balls. Stick to the top tiers when you can, avoid the D-tier traps, and you'll find yourself winning way more runs. Of course, like any other tier list, this one serves as a general guide to help you decide if you’re unsure which to use. It’s not set in stone, everything ultimately depends on your playstyle and which characters you are using.
