S-Tier: Best Characters in Apex Legends Season 27

These four legends are dominating ranked matches. If you want to climb, seriously consider learning one of them.
Horizon
Horizon was already decent, but now she's one of the strongest legends in the game. Her Gravity Lift moves you up at 375 units per second, which is super fast. The cooldown is only 22 seconds too.
Her Black Hole ultimate is way tankier now with 255 health instead of 175. Good luck destroying that thing in the middle of a fight. Her new perks let you slam down from the air or glide forward, giving you tons of ways to outplay people.
Rampart
Rampart took over as the best controller legend this season. Her amped walls now have roofs, making them way stronger for defense. The wall health scales with your armor level, so they get tougher as the match goes on.
Her walls store damage when they get shot, then convert that into a speed boost for your team. You can actually play aggressively with Rampart now instead of just camping. She's versatile in ways Caustic just can't match.
Sparrow
Sparrow has one of the smoothest movement kits in the game. His double jump passive wins so many fights because people don't expect the extra height. His tactical and ultimate give you intel while letting you play vertical. He's a hybrid recon and mobility legend, which is exactly what this meta needs.
Valkyrie
Valkyrie got buffed so hard that she's almost broken. Her jetpack cooldown went from 8 seconds to just 2.5 seconds. That means you can fly around constantly instead of waiting forever between uses. She also flies faster horizontally now, making her way harder to hit.
Her ultimate launches much faster with the Supersonic perk, and you can actually shoot missiles while flying. Those missiles don't hurt you anymore either, and they scan enemies while slowing them down. She's basically perfect for the current meta.
A-Tier: Really Strong Picks

You can't go wrong with any of these legends. Most good team comps will have at least one A-tier character.
Alter
Even after getting nerfed last season, Alter is still a great pick. Her tactical lets you reposition in ways no other legend can. Her passive is a game-changer too, because you can grab important items from death boxes without getting close. That means you can loot safely while your team is still fighting.
Ash
Ash used to be way more broken, but she's still one of the best rotation legends. Her ultimate portal is faster than almost any other movement ability in short distances. You can use it to push aggressively or escape when things go wrong. Valkyrie might be better for long rotations, but Ash wins for quick plays.
Lifeline
Lifeline is basically the perfect healer now. Her ultimate gives you solid cover and heals you super fast. The best part is her DOC revive works automatically, so you can keep shooting while your teammate gets back up. She works as both a defensive anchor and an aggressive support, which makes her fit into any team.
Newcastle
Think of Newcastle as Gibraltar but better. He's the go-to defensive legend in high-rank lobbies. His mobile revive lets him drag teammates to safety while blocking damage. His ultimate now blocks grenades and other throwables, which is huge when you're getting pushed by multiple teams.
Revenant
Revenant's Shadow Pounce got nerfed, but it's still a solid movement tool. His ultimate gives you 75 bonus shields instantly, which makes him insane in 1v1 fights. You can challenge people with better armor and still win because of that overshield.
B-Tier: Solid and Reliable

These legends are strong and work well in most situations. They're not the absolute best, but you can definitely win with them.
Ballistic
Ballistic dominates 1v1 fights. If you hit someone with his tactical while his ultimate is active, they're basically screwed. His ultimate instantly upgrades his sling weapon to gold tier. His only weakness is that his level three perks aren't that great compared to other legends.
Bangalore
Bangalore is your classic shooter-game all-rounder. She's got movement, team utility, and damage potential. Her smoke breaks line of sight, which is super useful for revives or repositioning. Her ultimate zones people out hard. She’s not the best, but she is definitely still useful.
Caustic
Caustic is one of the best controllers in the game. His gas works for both defense and offense. He can easily unlock all his perks, making him consistent throughout the match. The problem is that Rampart is just better this season because of her buffs. Caustic is still strong, but he's not the controller king anymore.
Gibraltar
Gibraltar wins most 1v1 fights because of his Fortified perk and Gun Shield. He went from being good on every team to being situational. He's strong in duels, but Newcastle and Lifeline are better for team play and coordination.
Mad Maggie
Mad Maggie is a better entry fragger than Fuse because she's got speed and power together. Her Riot Drill counters defensive legends really well, especially Rampart. Her Wrecking Ball ultimate can swing fights when used right. She’s a really good character if you know how to overcome her self-damage kit and how to control her ultimate.
Loba
Loba has two bracelet charges now, which makes her movement way more flexible. She can grab dead teammate banners with her Black Market, which is clutch for saving your squad. Her ultimate with perk upgrades lets your team grab the best loot fast, even from care packages.
Mirage
Mirage is all about outplay potential. He's not great for team synergy in competitive, but his invisible revives are still strong. Good Mirage players can get picks with well-timed decoys in ranked lobbies. He's a wildcard pick that can work if you know what you're doing.
Seer
Seer used to be completely useless, but the buffs turned him better. His tactical recharges way faster now, and you can actually see properly in his ultimate. His perks even let him heal his own shields when he scans people.
Wraith
Wraith used to be the best skirmisher, but Ash does her job better now. Her tactical void run is still a great escape tool, but her ultimate feels slow and less safe than other rotation options. She's decent and works in specific situations, but she can't compete with A-tier rotators anymore.
Vantage
Vantage got some buffs that made her more viable. Her bat gives decent mobility, and her sniper ultimate works as a solid third weapon. She's still outclassed in movement though, and you need to carry Ultimate Accelerants to use her sniper consistently in long-range fights.
Pathfinder
Pathfinder has some of the best raw movement in the game. Getting a second Grapple charge at Level 3 helps a lot. He does require plenty of practice to master, but once you do, he performs exceptionally well in almost any situation.
C-Tier: Okay But Not Great

These legends can work if you play them right, but they're not top-tier meta picks. You'll have to work harder to get the same results.
Catalyst
Catalyst used to be really strong in ranked, then she got nerfed hard. She's the only legend who can rebuild broken doors, which is useful. But she doesn't have the flexibility of other controllers. Her ultimate wall is pretty weak because enemies can still see and shoot through it pretty easily.
Wattson
Wattson isn’t weak, she’s just difficult to master. Her skill ceiling is so high that most players struggle to get consistent value from her. Her overall kit also doesn’t shine as much in the current season, especially when Rampart and Caustic can deliver better results with much less effort.
Crypto
Crypto gets overshadowed by more mobile recon legends. The big problem is using his drone leaves you sitting still and unable to help your team fight. His EMP ultimate also damages your own shields, which makes it less useful for aggressive pushes.
Conduit
Conduit might be the weakest support legend right now. Her kit feels outdated compared to others. Her passive speed boost is usually unnecessary, and her tactical healing is too slow with a 25-second cooldown. You just can’t really rely on her overall kit in clutch moments.
Fuse
Fuse can pump out crazy damage with his grenade capacity and Knuckle Clusters. The problem is his kit can hurt you too, especially at close range. In high-rank lobbies where positioning matters most, Fuse doesn't have any defensive tools to keep you alive.
D-Tier: Skip These Characters

These legends either got reworked but are still weak, or they're just too situational. They work sometimes, but are usually outclassed by better options.
Octane
Octane's whole concept is taking damage to go fast, which is just bad. Tons of other legends move faster without hurting themselves. His tactical is one of the weakest abilities in the game because you start fights with less health. His Jump Pad gives less protection and value than other rotation tools. Respawn said they'll tune him eventually, but right now he's a liability.
Bloodhound
Bloodhound hasn't changed much since the game launched. The kit is easy to learn, but gets completely overshadowed by Vantage, Sparrow, and Seer. Those legends scan better and have way better movement. Bloodhound's simple speed boost just isn't enough for high-level play anymore.
Season 27 has made vertical gameplay and the perk system super important. If you want to climb ranks, focus on learning Valkyrie, Horizon, or Rampart. They're dominating the meta right now and will give you the best chance to win fights.
If those don't fit your playstyle, pick something from A-tier. All of those legends are strong enough to carry you up the ranks if you play them well. Just avoid the C-tier and D-tier legends unless you really love them, because you'll be fighting uphill the whole time.
Do note that this tier list serves as a general guideline. The effectiveness of each Legend ultimately depends on your playstyle and how well you’ve mastered their abilities.
