S-Tier: Best Ball x Pit Characters
These characters are strong from the start and keep getting better as the game goes on.
- The Itchy Finger fires so fast it's wild once you get the hang of it. One of the highest damage characters if you practice and keep moving. It's all about speed and non-stop shooting.
- The Tactician is great at controlling the battlefield and dealing with groups of enemies smoothly.
A-Tier: Really Good With the Right Setup
These characters are strong, but you need to know what you're doing. Pick the right balls and evolutions, and they become absolute machines.
- The Shade is risky because it dies easier, but if you build it right with piercing shots or critical hits, it becomes a killing machine. High risk, high reward.
- The Repentant boosts balls’ damage with each bounce. Every bounce means more damage, this character just destroys everything.
- The Shieldbearer doubles your ball damage when it bounces off shields. Double damage is always a good feature in any game.
B-Tier: Good and Dependable
These characters work fine. They don't have crazy tricks, but they get the job done without too much drama.
- The Flagellant is genuinely fun to play and consistent too. It bounces off the bottom wall a lot, which keeps pressure on enemies constantly.
- The Embedded uses poison and piercing shots to clear crowds fast. You need decent aim though, or you'll miss a lot.
- The Warrior is the starter character, no special effects, no extra gimmicks, but gets the job done. He’s simple but dependable.
C-Tier: Playable But Rough
These characters work, but they're picky. You need the right luck with what powers drop, or they struggle against harder enemies later on.
- The Cohabitants copies the Brood Mother's attacks, which is cool early. But eventually, enemies get too strong and those copies don't matter anymore.
- The Juggler throws balls in a weird arc that helps in some areas but makes farming slow. Not worth it most of the time.
- The Radical plays itself automatically, which feels chill but honestly just isn't strong enough. Active characters that you control do way more damage.
- The Physicist uses gravity effects which is creative, but it's super hard to control when things get crazy.
What Should You Play?

Here's the real talk: if you're just starting out, pick The Warrior or The Tactician. They're straightforward, they work, and you'll win without pulling your hair out.
Want something spicy and challenging? Go for The Shade or The Repentant. You'll die more, but when you win, it feels awesome.
Ball x Pit is all about finding the character that matches how you like to play. Whether you want raw power, defense, speed, or something weird and experimental, there's someone for you. Pick your character, build your powers smart, and most importantly—have fun with it.
